For me, photography is a process of connections. While out photographing I give myself time to be present in a place in a moment. In-camera, I work on the image, refining the composition and distilling the most important elements in the scene.
In post-processing I reexamine the image, thinking of when I captured it and what I experienced at the time. As I work towards my previsualized idea, I take into account any changes I may have noted while capturing it. I will step away giving myself time to get used to the changes I’ve made. This lets me make sure the image is moving in the direction I intended.
After post-processing is complete, the photo is ready to be displayed either digitally or printed. It is now time for me to step away, allowing the image to speak for itself.
